Our History

1968 – Skea started as a family run business in egg production under Matt Hayes, producing shell egg.

1970’s – The company began a packing operation, selling shell egg to the wholesale market.

1990’s – Skea started to supply eggs to retailers in the NI Market & Morrisons in mainland Great Britain

1997 –  A merger with Richlea Eggs brought further opportunities in the retail market.

2000’s – Skea started to supply retail further into the GB Market across Tesco, M&S & Sainsbury’s in 2008

2021 – New tray washing facility opened to allow for investment in plastic reuseable trays for our farmers.

2022 – Skea was acquired by The Ready Egg Group, another family run business located in County Fermanagh Northern Ireland.

2023 – Further investment in new grading equipment was made – Moba 530 packing facility with the latest grading technology, further robotic loading and case/shipper packing automation.
